RYLA for Rotary Internation District 5580 began in 1992 with 27 campers and has since blossomed to well over 100 campers each year divided among over a dozen "family" groups. As the table below shows, the number of participants and Rotary Clubs involved in RYLA have increased dramatically from 1992.

Since its inception in 1992, Camp RYLA has been held at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC). The campus is located just north of Crookston in northwestern Minnesota. The Crookston campus and community have proven to be ideal settings for Camp RYLA.
